No, this isn't me. By some strange twist of fate, I bear the same
name as this guy, but there are differences. For instance, I wear glasses
and this Marcus doesn't. He's a pretty good bass player, tho. |
This would be me, hiding behind- what else? A bass. I do that
a lot, but this time, I'm just frightened by the character at the left, and what
he's able to do. (And, more importantly, what I can't do.) |

(right....and Mt. Everest is kind of a big rock, too) |

My name is Marc Miller, and I am a bass player. (this is the part where all the fellow addicts say, "Hi, Marc"....)
I live in the Seattle, Washington area of the U.S. with my wife of 23
years, Debi. We have 2 kids- Ian (20) and Sarah (15), and 1 dog
(Laredo) and 2 cats, Bugsy and Dusty. By day, I spend my time working
as a software engineer and project manager at a large Redmond,
Washington based software company (bet you can guess which one)
but in the evenings and weekends, I shed my propeller-beanie and become
a free-lance musician and record producer. (I prefer the term "warrior-poet"...) My musical specialties lie
mainly in jazz and pop, but I'll play just about anything I can get my
hands on. Or pays. Or both.
When I'm not doing music and I have some
spare time (which is quite rare) I like to spend time reading
historical narratives (I am a WWII nut) and about all things spiritual.
And, in case you just want to read some rantings and ravings, check out my blog.

11/01/2008 - CRIMSON FABLE REBORN!!!
Many, many years ago, I was in a rather influential progressive rock band, "Crimson Fable". Through a series of very interesting events, and after 15 years, the original members of the band- Art Bromage on guitars, Ed Melendez on keyboards and vocals, Gary Zdenek on drums and vocals and yours truly on bass and vocals - have decided to reunite and record a brand new album, "Reborn". The album will contain several tracks from our last (and unreleased) album, "Fragments" as well as several new songs.
We will be also be chronicling the recording and writing process on our website. Check it out, and stay tuned for news and the release of Reborn.

10/22/2008 - Well, The Jazz Collective at Alligator Soul continues to be a blast! For those that haven't been there yet- shame on you!! Looks like we'll be there every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays for the forseeable future.
Dustin Blatnik Band (DBX) is starting a new project at my studio in Kirkland. If you're not hip to Dustin, you really should be. This one will be even vibier than the last, and will be featuring some actual band composed tunes. Stay tuned!
